Pilates gives a whole body workout that challenges you like no other exercise. The movements systematically work all the muscle groups in your body, challenging the weak areas as well as the strong, improving strength and flexibility, posture and co-ordination, resulting in a leaner body, a new physical poise and greater mental strength.

Pilates stretches, tones and re-aligns the body using exercises requiring total core stability.  This method uses concentration, precision and control to work the deep postural muscles, particularly around the waist and back., but will also work the body as a whole, aiming to coordinate the upper and lower muscles groups with the centre of the body.

The movements will have a noticeable impact on your body in terms of general well-being, youthfulness, strength and flexibility, and will also help to heal any long or short term injuries/imbalances caused by today’s sedentary lifestyle.

While the exercises are designed to put a minimum of strain on the body, practised with no shoes, and mainly on the floor and with no impact on the joints, they also aim to challenges its capabilities.  This means that Pilates is accessible to anyone of any age or fitness level. Pilates will strengthen your body and focus your mind and make you look and feel a new person.

Sara Kingston : Pilates (matwork) and danse instructor.
Born in England. Certified in Pilates from the Pilates Institute and obtained diplomas in dance, theatre and music from "The Guildford College of Drama and Danse in England".
Sara started as a professional dancer and actress, performing in musicals and revues around the world. She progressed to choreography, creating several shows for the stage. She also teaches classical and modern dance to children and has many years of experience on stage and behind the scenes. Sara discovered Pilates and realised the benefits to dancers and also to people looking for a method to keep fit without undue aggression to the body. She now teaches group and private beginner Pilates classes and modern jazz danse to children and teenagers.
